Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry at Sola Bible Church exists to come alongside the men of our congregation to shepherd them in God's Word, equip them to lead with godly conviction in their homes, their church, and their community, call them to personal holiness and Christlike character, train them to make disciples and invest in the next generation of men, and to challenge them to stand firm in the faith — walking faithfully with Christ and serving Him diligently with the gifts and calling He has entrusted to them.

The following principles drive this ministry:

  • - Commitment to the truth of God's Word as the sole foundation for biblical manhood, leadership, and discipleship (2 Tim 3:16-17)

  • - Proclamation of Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor 2:1-2), with the goal of seeing every man come to saving faith if not yet in Christ, and grow to full maturity — equipped, accountable, and faithful (Col 1:28-29)

The Men's Ministry seeks to pursue the programs for Christ's Church as prescribed clearly in His Word in the following ways:

  • - Worship — Equipping of men who fear God, exalt Christ, and lead others in doing the same (Jn 4:24)

  • - Fellowship — building genuine fellowship rooted in the gospel and marked by accountability (Heb 10:24-25)

  • - Ministry — equipping men to serve the church, their families, and their community with conviction and humility (1 Pet 4:8)

  • - Teaching — grounding men in the careful study and application of God's Word for every area of life (Eph 4:11)

  • - Discipleship and evangelism — raising up men who make disciples, mentor younger men, and engage the lost with the gospel (Matt 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)

Methods of ministry are rooted and grounded in the truth of God's Word, and are as follows:

  • - Communicating and upholding high standards of biblical manhood in all areas of life — in the home, the workplace, and the church

  • - The constant call to watch both life and doctrine, and to lead by example in both (1 Tim 4:16)

  • - Use of God's Word as the sole basis for all teaching, discussion, and accountability

  • - Intentional mentorship and discipleship relationships between mature and younger men

  • - Emphasis on Scripture memory, doctrinal literacy, and the practical application of biblical truth

  • - Providing regular opportunities for fellowship, prayer, and mutual encouragement in the faith

  • - Challenging men to take their God-given responsibility seriously as husbands, fathers, and members of the body of Christ

The ministry can be evaluated by the clear demonstration of:

  • - Enduring faithfulness and integrity in every sphere of a man's life (Matt 24:13)

  • - Ever-increasing conformity to the image of Christ in character, conduct, and conviction (Eph 4:13)

  • - Men who imitate their elders as their elders imitate Christ (1 Cor 11:1)

  • - A culture of accountability, discipleship, and bold gospel witness among the men of the congregation (2 Pet 3:18)
