Volunteer
At Sola Bible Church, we are committed to the equipping of the saints for the works of service. With this commitment in mind, it is necessary for a process for every individual who desires to serve within our local body.
1) New to Sola
- Get to know us.
- Attend services regularly.
- Interact with leadership (allows us to get to know you)
- Read over SBC doctrinal statement
- Attend mid-week services regularly.
2) Eligible to serve in certain roles
- Attend SBC for a minimum of six months
- Be attending services regularly
- Have completed a membership application
- Listened to the 12 messages on the foundation of the church
*BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED TO WORK WITH MINORS
3) Eligible to lead a ministry
- Member in good standing
- Regularly attending services and mid-week studies
- Completed "Becoming a Biblical Leader" with an approved leader(s)
- Demonstrate faithful service under a ministry leader
- Approved by the elders
4) Eligible to teach
- Meet all previous requirements
- Faithfully attend Sola Bible for a minimum of 3 years (an exception can be made for an individual who comes with full affirmation from the elders of a like minded church. Even in this case, elders will require a process to evaluate, designate, and approve scope of teaching)
- Completed all pre-requisite work to participate in teaching practicum
- Complete 3 required teaching practicums
- Approved by elders who will designate scope of teaching
* Womens' scope of teaching shall be restricted to the scope that God has afforded in the Scripture (1 Tim 2:12, Tit 2:3-5). Therefore, women will not teach in mixed or male settings.
5) Eligible for leadership (elders and deacons)
- Meet all previous requirements
- Demonstrate faithful oversight and service of ministries
- Meet qualifications of an elder/deacon (1 Tim 3:1-13, Tit 1:5-9)
- Complete "Becoming a Biblical Elder" with a current elder
- Complete elder examination and ordination
- Present to congregation for feedback/support (30 days)
- Approved by the elders
